NEWAskAwayFriday-Echo-300Now lets get dirty! Here are the questions Liv asked me with my answers in BOLD and ITALIC:

First – welcome to blogging!  I’ve only read your first two blogs (as you’re newer than new!) and they are fantastic.
Thank you for the warm welcome! You have all been beyond amazing!  My sister is part of a warm loving community of supportive people.  It’s an honor to be here!
1. You’ve been blogging for a whole week now.  Are you in love with the process yet?  What are you finding is working well – and what’s not?
I am loving the feeling I get when I try to connect with people, in the few blogs I have made.  I am cherishing the people who tell me I inspire them, because that’s what keeps me inspired back.   I am loving the community of bloggers who live all over the world. The internet has that magical way of making the world feel a little smaller.  I am loving how the community of fans I have built already via radio, yoga, Facebook, and instagram, are supporting me once again here!

On the flip side, I am absolutely having a hard time adding this to my very busy to do list.  I know it’ll get easier and I’ll find the time, but I do find it difficult so far to make my own posts, and read others!  I can’t wait until I get more of a system down, that this becomes easier to maintain!  I feel like my “free time” is now dedicated to blogging, and I have to remember to really take some “free time” and let the brain rest.

2. You recently got married (congratulations!)  So this is your first Valentine’s Day as a married woman.  What special plans have you newlyweds got?
Thank you!  I hope newlywed world lasts forever!! For Valentine’s Day we actually have no idea yet! My husband plows for the town, so we can’t plan too much with the constant threat of bad weather.  I actually love the holiday even if some call it a “hallmark holiday”.  Whatever we do, whether it’s at home or a nice dinner out, we just plan to be together and remember the reasons we are in fact, together.  Maybe we’ll make a cute yoga pose!

 3. I know that you have a beautiful niece and nephew and you love them completely as your social media lists you as “super aunt” (well…and I suppose I may stalk their mother).  Share one of your favorite pics of you with them and set the scene for us.
There are so many great photos! Only one?  Ok I’ll pick a Tamara gem since she is the Queen of capturing moments, and my talented sister!   The scene was a birthday photo shoot/present for me getting photographed WHILE apple picking with Tamara’s children, my niece and nephew.  Des was a baby, Scarlet at one point took her pants off, there was a sticky lollipop, all in the middle of an orchard.  All my sister wanted to do was give me a great birthday!  Of course, my sister managed to juggle her children AND give me a great birthday/present.  I loved every single moment including the one in this photo.   There was a lot going on in that apple orchard, but it’s one of the moments where my niece and I just stopped to look at each other.  I feel like I’m saying to her ” Here’s looking at you kid”….

4. I used to do yoga a lot – and I’m in awe of your flexibility.  Which pose do you love the most and why?  Are there any poses that you just don’t enjoy?
I love anything heart opening like wild thing, fallen triangle, dancer pose, etc.  In addition, I’m obsessed with trying new arm balances.  Poses I try and need to get better at, are handstands and one armed crow pose!

5. I’m incredibly impressed that you and your husband find time during the day to do Crossfit together.  Can you share a little more about how you met?
I think we make the time because its part of our history.  We both met at CrossFit and work completely opposite hours of the day.  In order to stay healthy, and burn off stress, we keep the beginning of our relationship in our present day by going together in between our jobs!
I had seen him months before I actually met him, because he was the one hot new guy tagged in photos on Facebook!  I asked about him, but I happened to ask the wrong person.  She had a crush on him we think, and told me that he was BAD.  I figured I’d leave it alone then.  I was over dating “bad ” guys by then.
Apparently he heard me curse one day when we both were at the gym together, and that intrigued him!!!! We had both been intrigued, and both been led astray from someone who crushed on him!? THE NERVE!  It’s actually really humorous….
Eventually we found ourselves at a holiday workout event, and I spent many hours flirting with him.  The flirting led to a drunken video of me doing a burpee and asking him on Facebook for his number to send it.  He got my number, and used it too:)  I scored my husband with my foul mouth, and a drunk attempt at burpees!

Yes he had me at mopping his own sweat…..
6. I usually ask for a poem of some kind for #AAF.  Here’s hoping that you’re into it.  I need a poem or haiku about Valentine’s Day.
Oh sure! I’m always up for a challenge!
Valentines Day comes once a year,
Some people shed smiles, some a tear.
It’s a nice reminder to stop and make some time,
To love everyone in your life who makes your heart sing and rhyme.
Cupid finally shot me with his arrow, it’s my first as a wife.
Trust me I’ve seen enough dingle berries for this life.
Whether you’re a lover or a hater of the day,
I hope you find peace within your heart, eat some yummy chocolate, enjoy the fact that you’re alive, in your own way.
7. What do you love the most?  Tell me your favorite:
a. Flavor of gum :  Trident Layers “wild strawberry and tangy citrus” and my husband likes to steal it!
b. Chocolate bar: I don’t really have a favorite chocolate bar, but I have a favorite chocolate treat! Reeses peanut butter cups!
c. Zoo animal: Penguins!
d. App: I am obsessed with appetizers more so then entrees! I love hummus, veggies and dip, feta cheese, olives,  lettuce wraps, I’m a health nut nerd!
e. Pizza toppings:  I rarely eat pizza but my guilty pleasure would be veggies and pepperoni!
8. I know you’re a newlywed…and possibly you and hubs are to into the now to have considered this – but where do you see yourselves in ten years?
Actually I have been more of a free spirit live in the moment yogi, but my husband is the opposite and has taught me to “plan” for our future!  I hope in ten years we are settled in a warm and loving home with a family.  I hope I’m still at my radio job while teaching yoga on the side, and maybe even owning a studio with my mom!  I also hope Mike still has his awesome job, and his own baseball school:)  We have the potential and dreams to build our futures, but right now the goal is to make a baby (hopefully) and save before said baby is born, so we can move into our own home! (which I fantasize as an A frame cabin-esque should be in New England but it’s in NJ home)
9. Okay…I hemmed and hawed over this one – but when am I going to get this chance again??  You’re one of my favorite blogger’s sisters.  I know you love her – but DISH!  Tell me one incredibly interesting (extra points for embarrassing) story about you and Tamara when you were young.
Only one story about us as children?! HAHAHA! Okay, I’ll tell a cute story and maybe something embarrassing as the dessert.  When Tamara and I were young we used to stay at my grandmother and grandfather’s house often for the weekend, and we would always play “restaurant” in the morning.  We loved being waitresses and having our grandma be the chef!!! To be honest Tamara and I as part of a family of five children, had an amazing , adventurous, imaginative, magical childhood……Like the time Tamara got a pussywillow stuck up her nose….(It’s funny now!)

10. Your first #AAF post is almost done.  What did you think?  When will you be back for the next #AskAwayFriday?
It’s fun! I’m always on the interviewing end for my job so it was nice to be asked questions too!  I will be back next Friday 1/30 with http://mrsteelovelifelaughter.com/ !

Hahahahaha!! Pussywillow up her nose. I think I actually knew about that one already – as we traded stuff up our nose stories in the comments on her blog once (long story…M&M when I was a teenager…). The story about you and your hubs is funny – it is possible she had her own crush on him…but maybe she just didn’t like either of you?? (Nah…that can’t be it. You’re so likeable!) Great poem – great pics – and this was a fantastic #AAF! I’m glad I was your first!

And, your poem was pretty sensational!!
I had no idea how much time blogging took when I started – I have struggled some with the time commitment and almost stopped completely in December but I love the community and miss everyone when I’m not staying connected!

    • January 23, 2015 at 1:34 pm

I love your poem! I have to tell you that even after 12 years of marriage and 2 kids, my husband and I still feel like newlyweds most of the time. 🙂 I’m sure you and your husband will always be newlyweds at heart!

  7. January 24, 2015 at 3:23 pm

My sister and I loved playing restaurant too. We had one set up in the basement, and we took turns singing on stage for the invisible customers. And I had the same barrettes as you did in that adorable photo!

Blogging does take up a lot of time, if you let it. You’re wise to know that you need some free time away from it – otherwise, what will you have to blog about?

  8. January 24, 2015 at 4:23 pm

I love AAF posts! And the story of how your landed your guy is priceless! Your kid will love it.

Such a cool and fun love story of you and your husband! Things really happen in the most surprising way sometimes. So cool couple yoga pose you have too. Your poem is definitely something you can send to Hallmark for a Valentine’s card!

    • January 26, 2015 at 12:13 pm

HAHAH I’ll send to Hallmark but they may take out the dingleberries line:)

Hi Lindsay! Your first Ask Away Friday blog is a Rockin’ Success! This is a fun read, and Liv’s blog of responses to your questions is a fun read too! Your Valentine’s Day rhyme is pretty cool, and the story about you and Mike found each other made me smile. I sincerely hope that your ten year plan will become a reality.

  11. January 25, 2015 at 1:57 pm

HAHAH! I LOVE THE STORY of how you won your husband over. LOL! You look so crazy fit in that picture of him mopping up sweat. Oh geez! I love a reason to celebrate love, vday is all good in my book too! My sisters and I (five of us) used to play restaurant too! Only my younger sister made the food lol it was not as good as a grandma’s.

    • January 26, 2015 at 12:10 pm

You’re one of five girls!! Wow, we have five but boys too, your poor dad?! Thats amazing!!!!! Aw thank you:0 I was working hard at my body to win him and his sweaty self over hahaha

  12. January 25, 2015 at 4:31 pm

I so feel you about making time for blogging, but the small (or big) community that you build really is very rewarding. Love the story how you and your husband got together – ‘foul mouth and burpees’ – LOL – really, the best. Veggie&pepperoni pizza – yep, me, too, and appetizers – I totally dig those. Forget about desert any time. Well, except it is well made tiramisu 🙂

    • January 26, 2015 at 12:09 pm

Aw thanks Claudia! Can’t wait to tell the kids one day we met because I curse a lot:) HAHAHAH! xo I agree about the community and have that in yoga, I hope I can maintain this and be there for my fellow bloggers!

What an absolutely fun and amazing swap!! Welcome to the AAF Family Lindsay!! I am in awe of so many things fitness. I want to do and try them all but my body seems to be in totally disagreement with me…LOL I did Zumba for the first time and was laid up for 2 days now my schedule won’t let me go back and I’m honestly a bit relieved. I didn’t realize how out of shape I was! I did yoga in High School and absolutely loved it – but that was High School and I am not sure I could even start again.

Reading you answers and getting to know you through this swap has made me even more excited for ours! Yay! I can’t wait…ttysoon!

    • January 27, 2015 at 8:01 pm

HAHA If I don’t work out for a week I have a hard time getting back into it. It’s so easy to lose, and so HARD to gain sigh…….I was wayyy out of shape until I started the hard core yoga/crossfit:) YAY excited for our swap too! I did my research on you too:) xo
