Bucket lists make the world more magical

Do you have a bucket list? No matter how silly, or how serious, what would you do if you had the chance?  It’s ironic, but most of our dreams and wishes we CAN do.  We just convince ourselves that we can’t because of our jobs, families, fears, responsibilities in general.

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years” – Abraham Lincoln

As I touched upon in my last blog entry http://www.lindsaykleinrocks.com/whats-cooking/, I learned at a young age about food, life, death, family, you name it.  I was only five and a half years old when I witnessed my father have a massive heart attack.  The aftermath was of course forever life changing.  I think when people are faced with a trauma, their taste for life can heighten immensely.   Some lose the realization that life is short in a day, a week, some never do.  I’d like to think that majority of the time, for better or worse, I haven’t forgotten that life is short, and can change in a minute of time.

unnamed-1I went from a family of four to a family of seven, and even though there was a lot of heart ache and life lessons, there was also change and new love.  My mother remarried and I was blessed with a mixed family.  I got lucky.  The little girl with the shattered heart gained another father, more siblings, a new home, and she learned how to grow again, and see the world with open eyes and open doors.  The little girl dreamed big, the big girl still does.

12072_10151898386373659_1578569157_nWhen my husband and I first started to date we each wrote down our own bucket lists.  It was a fun way to get to know each other, and actually felt amazing putting it down on paper.  Little did I know that night that HE was going to be a few of my checklist dreams: true love AND my husband.

I believe one of my “to do’s” consisted of whale watching…..

Lately my bucket list has been to learn how to cook/eat more clean ingredients and I already posted a lot of my fun recipes!  Look!!!! I made my first homemade organic roasted butternut squash soup!unnamed-5unnamed-4unnamed-3unnamed-2unnamed-1Proud DJ/Yogi!!! Yummmmy!

Mike and I both put on our individual lists to have a family (cue in awwww), go to an airport and pick the first flight we see with one bag packed and just get on and go, travel cross country, see ALOT of Europe, build a home (house), etc.  Some dreams on the list are going to take time to accomplish, others not as much.  That’s the funny thing about dreams, some even come true when you stop trying….

For my birthday Mike had remembered my bucket list, I got to go skydiving!

Life gets more meaningful when you start to come up with your bucket list goals.  Life gets more magical when you make the visions a reality…..Whether its your own bucket list, or one with your spouse, always continue to add onto your list.  Always continue to “live”.

Right side up….

On your stomach…

and always with the ones you love….

10271523_10152832520758659_3572012838730288753_nWhat’s on your bucket list?  Please feel free to share your dreams, after all , they are contagious…..

Namaste, and Rock on!

I loved this Lindsay and will say so much of what has been on my bucket list has come to fruition and this past weekend, I finally added a new one to my list with booking Disney (finally- yes I am probably the only little girl who never went way back when) for this summer. So excited and cannot wait now to cross this one off my own list. But looks like you have already accomplished so much, but still loved taking a glimpse at it all. Thank you for sharing 🙂

I have smaller bucket list goals. I want to learn how to juggle. And this year I checked off learning how to fold a fitted sheet semi properly. I’d have a recurring dream about getting on a plane…maybe some day when the kids are older. Great list – and great way to throw yourself into life!

I remember reading your fitted sheet goal I love it!!!!!!! Thanks honey and juggling is HARD! …..from what I remember in elementary school semi trying it;)

This is such a fun post! I love that you guys are fulfilling your bucket lists together! I have a large bucket list, but like you, my husband made some of my biggest ones come true. True love, happy marriage, being a mom and seeing the ocean for the first time! I didn’t see it until I was 27, but my husband took me and I will never forget it!

    • January 27, 2015 at 9:05 pm

WOW!!!! That’s so amazing seeing the ocean for the first time with your husband!!!! Im happy to hear you have a large bucket list;) Personally I think the larger the better, dream big baby! xo

Amazing! You are so full of adventure! My bucket list is a bit milder…LOL! Going to Scotland and traveling through the UK, staying in a castle, writing my own romance novel are just a few of my dreams. Writing the novel is in the starting phase, but the other two are a bit more out of reach for now at least financially. I was able to cross one thing off, which was standing on a beach watching the sun rise over the horizon and it was done a year ago on Miami Beach. The best part was that I was able to do so with my hubby and the two little ones. May all of your dreams come to fruition! Rock on, my friend!

Those are great goals mama!!!! I love them, and love when you get the chance to fulfill ones with others:) Rock on mama!

It’s funny you’re posting this tonight, because – a few hours ago, while being on my elliptical, I watched your sky diving video and was going to comment, but somehow I couldn’t in the iPad app. You.are.so.brave! I would never, ever go sky diving. Ever. I have got this thing about heights. And while I constantly try to counteract it, I would not go skydiving. Of course, the fact that a couple of my friends had accidents doing it doesn’t help either… Oh well… bucket list. Honestly, I don’t have one really. Things I dream of? That definitely includes whale watching. And dolphins, saw them on OBX, they’re magical. Africa – I want to see Africa, more magic. Someday I want to live at the ocean, where it is warm, no winters – sigh – at least I’ll go on vacation, soon 🙂
    Have a wonderful week!

    • January 27, 2015 at 10:15 pm

That sounded like a bucket list to me;) I love your dreams:) uh oh, your friends had accidents skydiving?!!!! Glad I did it safely and don’t need to do it again! HAHA the scariest part was the plane ride up and the anticipation. I NEVER Thought i’d do it, then again I never thought a lot of things, I changed! xo Have a great week too mama!

Those pictures when y’all are skydiving are awesome!!!
I haven’t done a bucket list – I think partly because I feel like it would be boring. I’m already “middle-age” (is that a true thing???) and not super adventurous. There are places I would like to travel but even with that I’m a “lay on the beach” kind of trip taker not a “do all the things.”
Yikes – now I feel old and boring!!!

    • January 29, 2015 at 2:29 pm

hahah that’s still a goal, to lay on the beach!!! Im boring but I like to see the world, and unfortunately get bored with lying on the beach:) xo I like it for an hour!

You my friend, are crazy. I could NEVER sky dive! I do have a bucket list and slowly, but consistently, I get to check off my dreams. But I agree with you, “some even come true when you stop trying…”
