Do you have a bucket list? No matter how silly, or how serious, what would you do if you had the chance? It’s ironic, but most of our dreams and wishes we CAN do. We just convince ourselves that we can’t because of our jobs, families, fears, responsibilities in general.
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years” – Abraham Lincoln
As I touched upon in my last blog entry http://www.lindsaykleinrocks.com/whats-cooking/, I learned at a young age about food, life, death, family, you name it. I was only five and a half years old when I witnessed my father have a massive heart attack. The aftermath was of course forever life changing. I think when people are faced with a trauma, their taste for life can heighten immensely. Some lose the realization that life is short in a day, a week, some never do. I’d like to think that majority of the time, for better or worse, I haven’t forgotten that life is short, and can change in a minute of time.
I went from a family of four to a family of seven, and even though there was a lot of heart ache and life lessons, there was also change and new love. My mother remarried and I was blessed with a mixed family. I got lucky. The little girl with the shattered heart gained another father, more siblings, a new home, and she learned how to grow again, and see the world with open eyes and open doors. The little girl dreamed big, the big girl still does.
When my husband and I first started to date we each wrote down our own bucket lists. It was a fun way to get to know each other, and actually felt amazing putting it down on paper. Little did I know that night that HE was going to be a few of my checklist dreams: true love AND my husband.
I believe one of my “to do’s” consisted of whale watching…..
Lately my bucket list has been to learn how to cook/eat more clean ingredients and I already posted a lot of my fun recipes! Look!!!! I made my first homemade organic roasted butternut squash soup!Proud DJ/Yogi!!! Yummmmy!
Mike and I both put on our individual lists to have a family (cue in awwww), go to an airport and pick the first flight we see with one bag packed and just get on and go, travel cross country, see ALOT of Europe, build a home (house), etc. Some dreams on the list are going to take time to accomplish, others not as much. That’s the funny thing about dreams, some even come true when you stop trying….
For my birthday Mike had remembered my bucket list, I got to go skydiving!
Life gets more meaningful when you start to come up with your bucket list goals. Life gets more magical when you make the visions a reality…..Whether its your own bucket list, or one with your spouse, always continue to add onto your list. Always continue to “live”.
Right side up….
On your stomach…
and always with the ones you love….
Namaste, and Rock on!
